This AI Usage Policy outlines guidelines for students and writers submitting to our journal or participating in our mini-courses.
Scope
This policy applies to:
- Article submissions to PYMINDS via Submit Article.
- Assignments, projects, or activities in PYMINDS mini-courses via Learn Now.
- Any content created for PYMINDS’ platforms, including Info Hub contributions or conference materials.
Permissible AI Use
AI tools may be used responsibly in the following ways:
- Grammar and Style Checks: Tools like Grammarly or ProWritingAid to improve writing clarity and correctness.
- Idea Generation: AI for brainstorming topics or outlining, provided the final work is your own.
- Data Analysis: AI tools for statistical analysis or data visualization, with proper documentation.

- Language Translation: AI translation for non-native English speakers, with manual review for accuracy.
All AI use must be disclosed (see Disclosure Requirements).
Prohibited AI Use
The following AI uses are not allowed:
- Generating Full Content: Using AI to write entire articles, essays, or course assignments.
- Plagiarism: Submitting AI-generated content as your own without significant original contribution.
- Unattributed Use: Using AI tools without disclosing their role in your work.
- Automated Peer Review: Using AI to review or evaluate submissions, bypassing human judgment.
- Misrepresentation: Claiming AI-generated content as fully human-authored.
Disclosure Requirements
If you use AI tools, you must:
- Declare AI Use: Include a statement in your submission or coursework (e.g., “I used Grammarly for grammar checks” or “I used AI for data analysis, detailed in the methodology”).
- Specify Tools and Extent: List the AI tools used and describe their role (e.g., “ChatGPT for brainstorming, but content was rewritten by me”).
- Submit via Form: Use the AI disclosure field in the submission form or course platform.
Failure to disclose AI use may result in rejection or penalties.
Enforcement and Consequences
Violations of this policy will be addressed as follows:
- Journal Submissions: Articles found to violate the policy may be rejected or retracted. Authors may be barred from future submissions.
- Mini-Courses: Coursework violations may lead to grade penalties, resubmission requirements, or course dismissal.
- Investigation: PYMINDS may use plagiarism detection tools or AI content detectors to verify compliance.
- Appeals: Contact support to appeal decisions, providing evidence of compliance.
